Available payment options
All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.
It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements for insuring, packing and removing the property purchased and any assistance by the Auctioneer, or the employees of, agents or contractors in packing and removal shall be rendered as a courtesy and without any liability to them. The Auctioneer shall not be liable for any errors or omissions or damage caused by packers and shippers, notwithstanding the fact that the Auctioneer may have recommended such shippers or packers to the purchaser.
Our single-owner consignor is a couple from the Greater Toronto Area who have travelled the world collecting fine wine and spirits. The spirits for this auction were sourced both through licensed retailers in Canada and abroad. They have taken great care to store their spirits properly, upright in temperature/humidity-controlled home cellar away from sunlight. Preferring to remain anonymous, our consignor couple has a passion to collect rare and valuable bottles from different regions, eras, and styles. They both enjoy scotch whisky especially and started collecting out of curiosity and appreciation of the history and complexity of the spirit. As true collectors they share their spirits and travel stories with friends, family and those who want to learn about the spirit.
A rare vintage Glenmorangie, distilled in 1975 that was released exclusively for duty free sales only. This particular bottling was produced in 2002.
Historical note on Glenmorangie. Despite being owned by blenders, MacDonald & Muir, for most of the 20th century, Glenmorangie had an early focus on bottling its single malt. Some records show that its single malt was being sold as early as the late 19th century. This became the distillery's main output in 1959, and with the unique flavours derived from Scotland's tallest stills, coupled with their pioneering use of wood finishing, Glenmorangie is now one of the world's biggest selling malts. As a result, the distillery portfolio over the years has been extensive, and little has been spared for independent bottlers.
