For 35 years, the Toronto Symphony Volunteer Committee (TSVC) has organized the annual Fine Wine Auction in support of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO), its education and community engagement programs, and the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra (TSYO) tuition-free program. As Ontario’s first charity wine auction, it has built a strong reputation and loyal following, raising more than $8.5 million over 34 years. Each year features fine wines generously donated by private collectors and carefully reviewed to ensure the highest possible standards of quality and condition. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our donors for their generosity, and to Hugh McLelland and the Estate of the late William Robert Wilson, whose exceptional cellars were also featured last year, for their enduring generosity and support. The 2025 auction will be held online through Iron Gate Benefit Auctions from December 4–9, and we thank them for providing the platform as well as expert management and storage of our wine inventory. Special appreciation also goes to Robert Jull of Vinifera Wine Services for his professional appraisals and to Stephen Ranger, Canada’s leading fine wine auctioneer, for his ongoing support. Donations of fine wine are accepted year-round, with appraisals and tax receipts provided. To donate or learn more, please visit https://TSVC.CA/Fine-Wine-Auction. We are pleased to present these wines from the Estate of William Robert Wilson in support of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO). Mr. Wilson was a long-term donor to the Toronto Symphony Fine Wine Auction for decades. “He was an oenophile and travelled extensively to famous vineyards, particularly in France. His knowledge about wine production and grape varieties was profound and he provided sage advice on hidden gems to buy.” He purchased many wines including top Bordeaux that were meticulously stored in his wine cellar. On behalf of the TSO, we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to auction these wines, and we hope that Mr. Wilson’s collection of wines will bring as much enjoyment to others as they did to him.
