This consignor grew up among the vineyards in the Niagara region and has fond memories of eating grapes off the vines at her friend’s family farm. It was during her 20s that she learned to appreciate wine, travelling through France, Italy and eastern Europe for business. In her 60s she began to collect wine seriously, some shipped to her by business associates and others purchased from wine merchants and collectors. The bottles have been meticulously stored in a custom designed wine cellar and were then moved into 2 temperature-controlled wine cabinets.
Producer notes- Gaja winery, located in Piedmont, produces this sensational “Rosso Langhe DOC”. It is a red blend, composed by 35% Nebbiolo, 35% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes come from vineyards cultivated around Barbaresco and Serralunga, great areas for the oenological Panorama. The fermentation of the three varieties is managed separately for three weeks. At the end of the malolactic fermentation, the assembly and the aging, in wood, for 12 months. In 1937, Giovanni Gaja, Angelo’s father, decided to create a label for its wines on which the name “Gaja” was clear and recognizable. Today, this prestigious name is famous worldwide, for its label of course, btu mainly for the excellence of its products. “Langhe Rosso DOC Sito Moresco”, after its 18 months maturation in barrique, is balanced, elegant and perfumed.
