A Quebec based consignor whose passion for wine began in the early 1990s after joining a local wine club featuring winemaker presentations and paired tastings. Inspired by these experiences, he started collecting bottles he particularly enjoyed—an interest that grew over time. Most of his collection was acquired through the SAQ, supplemented by select private imports from wine agencies in Quebec and Ontario. The wines have been meticulously stored in his home cellar and in temperature-controlled facilities at various SAQ locations.
1993 Chateau Mouton Rothschild Pauillac from this lot has the following scores - The Wine Advocate 90 points, Wine Spectator 90 points, James Suckling 90 points, CellarTracker 90 points. This is the tasting note for 1993 Chateau Mouton Rothschild Pauillac from Robert Parker - After less than persuasive performances in two potentially great years, 1989 and 1990, Mouton-Rothschild appears to have settled down, producing fine efforts in recent vintages, culminating with the enormously promising, unquestionably profound 1995. The 1993 is a beautifully made wine which could be considered a sleeper of the vintage. The wine boasts a dark purple color, followed by a sweet, pain grillee, roasted nut, and cassis-scented bouquet that is just beginning to open. In the mouth, the wine may not possess the body and volume of a vintage such as 1990 or 1989, but there is more richness of fruit, a sweet, ripe, pureness to the wine, as well as medium body and outstanding balance. This moderately tannic, well-focused, surprisingly rich 1993 is capable of 15-20 years of evolution. . 1993 Chateau Latour Grand Vin Pauillac from this lot has the following scores - Jean-Marc Quarin 92 points, Tom Cannavan 92 points, Wine Spectator 91 points, CellarTracker 91 points, The Wine Advocate 90 points, Jeff Leve The Wine Cellar Insider 90 points. This is the tasting note for 1993 Chateau Latour Grand Vin Pauillac from Robert Parker - A terrific wine for the vintage, Latour's 1993 reveals an opaque purple color, a backward, cedar, black walnut, cassis, and earth-scented nose, medium to full body, gorgeously rich, concentrated fruit, moderately high tannin (but no astringency), and a sweet, long, powerful finish. The wine does not possess any of the vegetal, green pepper characteristics of the vintage, nor any hint of hollowness or harshness. This wine may prove to merit an even higher rating. Is this vintage the modern day clone of the 1967 and 1971?. 1993 Chateau Haut Brion Pessac Leognan Premier Grand Cru Classe from this lot has the following scores - The Wine Advocate 92 points, CellarTracker 92 points, Wine Spectator 91 points. This is the tasting note for 1993 Chateau Haut Brion Pessac Leognan Premier Grand Cru Classe from Robert Parker - Quite a surprise in a difficult vintage, a strict selection and the superb terroir of Haut Brion triumphed over a very challenging year that produced many hard, relatively herbaceous wines. The color is a surprisingly saturated deep plum/ruby. Some sweet berry fruit intermixed with menthol, graphite, damp earth, and a hint of mushroom emerges in this medium-bodied, very elegant Haut Brion that is still firmly structured but has sweet tannin and surprising length and ripeness. The wine will always represent a sleeper style.
