A passionate and seasoned collector from Toronto, who has been buying fine wine since 1978. He purchased his first case of Mouton Rothschild and Chateau Latour at the vintage store in Ottawa and many bottles through the SAQ. He and his wife love traveling to wine regions in France and Italy and they acquired numerous bottles during their journeys. After downsizing to a smaller space, he decided to reduce his collection, hoping it will find a new owner who will appreciate it as much as he has. The collection was kept in his temperature-controlled cellar before going to auction.
The score for 1994 Chateau Latour Grand Vin Pauillac is 94 points from Robert Parker and the tasting note - Drunk from magnum, the 1994 Latour is showing brilliantly, bursting with aromas of dark fruits, English walnuts, cigar wrapper, loamy soil and woodsmoke. Medium to full-bodied, deep and fleshy, it's layered and concentrated, with sweet tannins, succulent acids and a long, sapid finish. The wine of the vintage in Bordeaux, I just wish I owned a case. The score for 1995 Les Forts de Latour Pauillac is 96 points from Robert Parker and the tasting note - Deep garnet-brick in color, the nose is well developed, displaying dried berry, leather, vanilla pod and anise notes with a faint whiff of potpourri. The palate is wonderfully fleshy and opulent with velvety, approachable tannins and a long finish. The score for 1996 Les Forts de Latour Pauillac is 96 points from Wine Spectator and the tasting note - Fabulous aromas of crushed raspberries, plums and blackberries. Mind-blowing nose. Full-bodied, with soft and silky tannins and a long caressing finish.
