Property of a prominent Toronto collector, who was involved with charities associated with wine. He stocked his cellar with wine where he had met the producer or been to the winery. Bottles were sourced through the LCBO, auction and agents and stored in a superb Rosedale wine cellar under ideal conditions and then most recently in a temperature-controlled wine storage unit in his condominium.
The score for 1995 Chateau Latour Pauillac Premier Cru is 96 from Robert Parker and the tasting note - A beauty, the opaque dense purple-colored 1995 exhibits jammy cassis, vanillin, and minerals in its fragrant but still youthful aromatics. Medium to full-bodied, with exceptional purity, superb concentration, and a long, intense, ripe, 40-second finish, this is a magnificent example of Latour. As the wine sat in the glass, scents of roasted espresso and toasty new oak emerged. This classic will require considerable cellaring. Anticipated maturity- 2012-2050.
