These bottles come to us from a very small collection of top-caliber wine. The collector is a lover of fine wine and spirits and it was a shift in drinking preferences that brought them to IronGate. They were cellared to perfection in an in-home cooling system and personally inspected by our President, Warren Porter.
1995 Domaine Jamet Cote Rotie has following scores - The Wine Advocate 92, CellarTracker 91. 1995 Domaine Jamet Cote Rotie has the score of 92 from Robert Parker and the tasting note -Two stellar performances from the Jamet brothers, both the 1996 and 1995 are impressively-endowed, rich, highly-extracted yet beautifully harmonious examples of Cote Rotie. The spectacular 1995 Cote Rotie reveals an even more opaque purple color than the 1996. The wine exhibits fabulous concentration, massive body, and a finish that lasts for nearly 30 seconds. At present, it is more impressive for its potential than its current drinkability. The juicy, smoky Syrah character is well-displayed in the tar, licorice, cassis-scented nose. Thick, viscous, highly-extracted flavors are pure and mouth-coating. 1995 Domaine Jean Louis Chave Hermitage has following scores - Vinous 97 , The Wine Advocate 97, Jeb Dunnuck 97. 1995 Domaine Jean Louis Chave Hermitage has the score of 97 from Robert Parker and the tasting note -A step up and showing more minerality, structure and length, with a masculine style, the 1995 Hermitage is drinking beautifully today. Described as disappointing by Jean-Louis over the past 5 years or so, it appears to be opening up and possesses fabulous, liquid rock-like qualities to go with cassis, blackberry and wild herbs. Medium to full-bodied, fabulously textured, rich and stretching out nicely on the finish, enjoy this beauty over the coming decade.
