The wines in this collection originate from a range of sources, including select boutique wine shops in London, New York City, and Beaune. Most of the Roumier bottles were purchased directly from the domaine. Although the wines have been moved a few times, they have consistently been kept in temperature-controlled storage to ensure optimal quality and preservation.
2001 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue Cuvee Vieilles Vignes Musigny Grand Cru from this lot has the following scores - BurgHound.com 96 points, The Wine Advocate 96 points, Jeannie Cho Lee (formerly Asian Palate) 96 points, Jean-Marc Quarin 96 points, Winedoctor 96 points, Vinous 95 points, Decanter 95 points. This is the tasting note for 2001 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue Cuvee Vieilles Vignes Musigny Grand Cru from Allen Meadows - I have tasted this many times since I originally reviewed it and the '01 Musigny has displayed quite a bit of bottle variation with some examples being fantastic and others being almost difficult to like. There is some secondary development now evident on the very spicy nose that also displays notes of sandalwood, soy, dried flowers and dried herbs on the mostly red berry fruit nose. There is fine detail and ample minerality present on the intense, powerful and focused medium-bodied flavors that exhibit impeccably good balance on the explosively long finish.
