An Ontario based consignor whose love of dining out and exploring new wine menus led him to start his own collection 25+ years ago. He bought futures through the LCBO and wine from agents and auctions house, such as Hart Davis Hart. Some of his wine came directly from vineyards around the world, South Africa, Portugal, and Australia to name a few. As time wears on he has made the decision to downsize his collection. He has stored his wine in his home cellar which is temperature and humidity controlled.
The score for 2001 Elderton Command Shiraz Barossa Valley is 95+ from Robert Parker and the tasting note - The 2001 Shiraz Command exhibits a slightly more roasted character than the 2002 as well as a hint of espresso in the nose, a touch more alcohol, and more elevated tannin. It also possesses tremendous concentration, intensity, and power, yet remains remarkably well-balanced and pure. This 3,000-case cuvee is one of South Australia’s great classics. It should drink well for 15 years.
