This consignor grew up among the vineyards in the Niagara region and has fond memories of eating grapes off the vines at her friend’s family farm. It was during her 20s that she learned to appreciate wine, travelling through France, Italy and eastern Europe for business. In her 60s she began to collect wine seriously, some shipped to her by business associates and others purchased from wine merchants and collectors. The bottles have been meticulously stored in a custom designed wine cellar and were then moved into 2 temperature-controlled wine cabinets.
The score for 2002 Pride Mountain Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is 91 from Robert Parker and the tasting note - The soft 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label exhibits an opaque purple color. It appears to be fully mature, but with its concentration and richness, it is capable of lasting another 10-15 years. Lots of cassis, incense, licorice, toasty oak and spring flower characteristics are abundantly displayed in this lovely, rich, pure, opulent wine. This enviable and venerable winery high on top Spring Mountain straddles the Napa and Sonoma county lines. These three sensational 2002s are all capable of lasting another 10-15+ years.
