The score for 2004 Colgin Cellars Tychson Hill Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is 96 points from Robert Parker and the tasting note - From a spectacular, gently sloping vineyard across from Freemark Abbey on Route 29, the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Tychson Hill Vineyard is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a first-growth Pauillac-like feel, with creme de cassis, licorice, cedarwood and Christmas fruitcake. A floral note also makes an appearance in this dense, purple-colored wine with full-bodied opulence, sweet tannin, and a terrific personality. This spectacularly beautiful estate high on Pritchard Hill with magnificent views in just about every direction has been on a qualitative tear for many years. From their humble beginnings at the co-op Napa Wine Company (their first releases were in the early 1990s), to the construction of their winery and estate vineyard, quality has soared.
"The score for 2004 Colgin Cellars Herb Lamb Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is 93 points from Robert Parker and the tasting note - Colgin no longer produce wine from the Herb Lamb Vineyard, but the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Herb Lamb Vineyard, which was picked the last half of September, was a tiny crop of small berries. It shows lots of lavender, bay leaf, black currants and cedarwood. It is a relatively mature, medium to full-bodied, complex multi-layered, beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon with slightly more herbaceousness than the other cuvees.

The score for 2004 Colgin Cellars Cariad Napa Valley is 94 points from Robert Parker and the tasting note - The 2004 Cariad, a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot and 8% Cabernet Franc, was made from fruit purchased from David Abreu’s vineyards, most of it coming from his St. Helena property, the Madrona Ranch. Always one of the most aromatically complex wines, the 2004 comes across as a Graves-like offering with enormous notes of scorched earth, a hot rocks sort of nose and meaty black currant and black cherry fruit. Some tannins are still left, but the wine is round, generously endowed, full-bodied and opulent with terrific complexity.
