An Alberta-based consignor who worked his way through university, gaining experience at renowned restaurants with exceptional wine programs. His passion for food and wine grew as he surrounded himself with like-minded people who shared the same enthusiasm for the subject. With nearly 20 years of experience in the wine industry, he holds both his sommelier accreditation and the WSET Diploma. He has been collecting wine since 2007 and is the sole owner of all the bottles in his collection. He purchases his wines upon release through retailers via the AGLC, and each bottle has traveled directly from the winery to the retailer, before being carefully stored in his cellar.
The score for 2005 Chateau Palmer Margaux is 97 from Robert Parker and the tasting note - Tasted at the Château Palmer vertical in London, the 2005 Château Palmer is a legend in the making. Apparently the vines received 57% less rain than average, yet the 2005 shrugs off any water deficiency and has nurtured a wondrously pixelated bouquet, whereby mineralité shines through the black cherry and blueberry fruit. Search deeper and you discover veins of graphite that impart a Pauillac-like allure. The palate is medium-bodied and intense, but it is not overwhelming, a Margaux that is galvanized with a firm backbone thereby ensuring this will age over the long term. The symmetry here is enthralling - a 2005 that is destined for greatness. The only question is whether it will surpass the 2009 or 2010 Palmer? It will be fun finding out. Additional scores for the wine in this lot - Vinous 98 points , Jeannie Cho Lee (formerly Asian Palate) 98 points , The Wine Advocate 97 points , Falstaff Magazine 97 points , Decanter 97 points , The Wine Front 97 points , John Kapon Vintage Tastings 97 points .
