An Ontario based consignor who has been collecting wine with her husband for over 30 years. They have an appreciation of the intricacies of the winemaking process and have travelled to many vineyards throughout the USA and Europe. When opening a bottle, they enjoy sharing the story of the wine and took great care to create their custom built wine cellar to house their unique collection. Their hope is to share these bottles with other avid wine collectors.
The tasting note for 2005 Tenute Cisa Asinari Marchesi di Gresy Camp Gros Martinenga Barbaresco DOCG is from Wine Spectator and the score is 92 - There's wonderful purity of fruit in this full-bodied wine, with raspberry and cut flowers on the nose and a dense yet reserved palate, with chewy tannins. The Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Grésy include four wineries located in the Langhe and Monferrato, places chosen for the production of the greatest Piedmontese wines. Martinenga is undoubtedly their most important vineyard, as well as the company's main headquarters. Twelve hectares arranged in a splendid natural amphitheater that overlooks the Barbaresco hills to the south and the Tanaro river to the west. The perfect exposure, the microclimatic complexity and the particular conformation of the soil - rich in tuff and blue marl from the Langhe - give the wines produced here an unparalleled harmony and elegance, even in the most difficult years.
