2010 Colgin Cellars IX Estate Syrah Napa Valley from this lot has the following scores - The Wine Advocate 100 points. This is the tasting note for 2010 Colgin Cellars IX Estate Syrah Napa Valley from Robert Parker - with a score of 100. The 2010 IX Estate Syrah is one of the most compelling Syrahs ever made in California. It ranks alongside some of the perfect Syrahs from Sine Qua Non in Santa Ynez and the Santa Rita Hills. Tasting like liquified steak au poive with blackberry and blueberry sauce, this amazing wine reveals staggering aromas of flowers, bouquet garni, melted asphalt, licorice, pepper and meaty notes. It should drink well for 15+ years assuming you have that much patience. 2007 Jonata ‘La Sangre de Jonata’ Santa Ynez Valley from this lot has the following scores - The Wine Advocate 100 points. This is the tasting note for 2007 Jonata ‘La Sangre de Jonata’ Santa Ynez Valley from Robert Parker - with a score of 100. A compelling Chapoutier Ermitage look-alike, the 2007 La Sangre de Jonata is composed of 98% Syrah and 2% co-fermented Viognier fashioned from yields of 1 to 2.2 tons of fruit per acre. A prodigious example of Jonata’s style of Syrah, its black color is accompanied by a striking perfume of honeysuckle, white peaches, blackberry liqueur, charcoal, graphite, and pen ink, soft tannins, full-bodied power, a mutlidimensional personality, and a finish that lasts over a minute. This 2007 will flirt with perfection when it is released in 2010.
