All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.

 

It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements for insuring, packing and removing the property purchased and any assistance by the Auctioneer, or the employees of, agents or contractors in packing and removal shall be rendered as a courtesy and without any liability to them. The Auctioneer shall not be liable for any errors or omissions or damage caused by packers and shippers, notwithstanding the fact that the Auctioneer may have recommended such shippers or packers to the purchaser.

A Toronto based consignor and member of the wine community whose collection is largely focused on Burgundy. He has been collecting wine for a long time and is starting to pare down his cellars in hopes that others will enjoy and learn about wine. Wine was procured through various outlets, LCBO, agents, auction, and direct from the producers and stored professionally and in a temperature and humidity-controlled cellar in his home.
The tasting note for 2008 Bouchard Pere Fils Chevalier Montrachet La Cabotte Grand Cru is from Allen Meadows, The Burghound and the score is 96 - There really isn't much to modify since my last review was only a few months ago, except to say that if anything, my score might be one point too conservative as this is going to be a great, great Chevalier. The original note from Issue 39 was - Discreet wood sets off a slightly riper but otherwise similar nose to the "straight" Chevalier, which leads to bigger, richer and fuller well-muscled and impressively scaled flavors that culminate in a powerful and beautifully textured finish of simply stunning length. Despite the weight and obvious heft, there is absolutely no sense of heaviness as the underlying minerality imparts a real sense of lift. In a word, terrific
