The consignor developed a love for red wine through its rich flavors and aromas; a passion sparked during her first trip to Napa Valley with her husband. Their shared enjoyment of the wine experience led to multiple return visits and direct shipments from top wineries to their home. Other bottles in the collection were purchased at Baseline Wines in Sherwood Park. All bottles have been carefully stored in a dedicated basement wine cellar, rotated regularly to ensure optimal aging.
2008 Screaming Eagle Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley from this lot has the following scores - Jeannie Cho Lee (formerly Asian Palate) 98 points, James Suckling 97 points, Jeff Leve The Wine Cellar Insider 96 points. This is the tasting note for 2008 Screaming Eagle Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley from Robert Parker - The estate’s 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon bursts from the glass with considerable richness and pure depth. The spring frosts lowered yields noticeably resulting in a wine that is a bit darker and heavier than is the norm. The rest of the vintage was on the warmer side, which gave the wine much of its ripeness and body. Mocha, espresso, licorice and sweet spices all wrap around the palate. Next to the other wines in this tasting, the 2008 is a bit burly. The mind-bending finesse of the best vintages is missing. .
