This collection is the legacy of a passionate collector of prestigious & rare bottles for the past 50 years. The gentleman was fortunate to have been introduced to wine by an older brother who navigated him through the vineyards of the world. The bottles for sale reflect an interest in top grade Bordeaux and very rare large format Super Tuscan wines. These bottles were purchased from an Alberta distributor and stored in a temperature-controlled home cellar from time of purchase through to May 2024. They were then transferred to a temperature-controlled storage facility before shipment to Irongate in September 2025. The collection will certainly please afficionados of rare large format bottles. All the bottles are in impeccable condition with high shoulder levels.
2009 Chateau Mouton Rothschild Pauillac from this lot has the following scores - Falstaff Magazine 100 points, Jeb Dunnuck 100 points, Jeff Leve The Wine Cellar Insider 100 points. This is the tasting note for 2009 Chateau Mouton Rothschild Pauillac from Robert Parker - with a score of 100. Deep garnet colored, the 2009 Mouton Rothschild gives up bold earthy notions of underbrush, tilled soil and fungi over a core of crème de cassis, plum preserves and Indian spices with a waft of camphor. Full-bodied with a firm, velvety tannin texture and packed with black fruit preserves and exotic spice layers, it has seamless freshness and a very long, decadently fruited finish.
