While studying economics at UCLA, the consignor frequently spent weekends and holidays exploring nearby wine regions such as Santa Barbara, Napa, and Sonoma. Upon returning to Canada, he joined Janet Webb (J. Webb Wine Merchant), where his journey as a collector began. He had the good fortune of acquiring wine through the shop and, later, during his time operating Highlander, enjoyed access to an extraordinary range of wines. His travels took him to nearly every major wine region, and he consistently brought back bottles to add to his collection. His cellar was maintained across his home, his company’s warehouse, and several EuroCaves, all temperature-controlled.

The most powerful wine in this vertical is the 2010 Léoville Las Cases, a full-bodied, deep and multidimensional behemoth redolent of rich berries, cassis, burning embers, pencil shavings and loamy soil.
