This collector is a self proclaimed, “Bordeaux Nut”, over 80% of is cellar is Bordeaux. He first became interested in wine on a trip to the Mosel where an unlabeled bottle of icewine enthralled his palate but his passion for Bordeaux began when his wine group introduced him to the 1982 vintage. He started to seriously collect when the 2000 vintage was released and has continued to add to his cellar since then. He purchased his wine through various outlets across the country, LCBO, SAQ, Edmonton’s The Wine Cellar and on Cambie Street in Vancouver. He stored all wine using commercial storage and in his home cellar which is kept at 54-57C.

The wine in this lot has a score of 97 from Robert Parker and the following tasting note -The 2010 Barolo Bussia Cicala opens to a dark ruby color and a richly concentrated appearance. This wine will appeal to those who appreciate added texture and heft in their Barolo. A special nod also goes to the aging potential of the wine that promises to be long and steady especially given the high quality of the 2010 fruit. Bussia Cicala imparts deep textural richness with lovely finesse and structural integrity. Hold this wine for ten years or more. Its profound beauty is already evident, but the wine has barely started its evolutionary course.
