An Alberta-based consignor who has been collecting wine for a little over five years, ensuring that all bottles are properly stored in several wine fridges at a consistent 13 degrees Celsius. His primary focus is on wines from Tuscany and Burgundy, with occasional selections from other regions. While he enjoys collecting, he drinks most of what he buys. His wine comes from a variety of sources, including auctions such as L'Épicurien and Waddington’s. He frequently purchases from local stores like Willow Park, Vine Arts, and Costco, primarily in Alberta, with Zyn.ca being a particular favorite. Additionally, he buys a significant amount of wine while traveling, often picking up bottles from duty-free shops, wine stores, and other retailers in different countries.
2012 Chateau Angelus St Emilion Grand Cru has following scores - Decanter 95 , CellarTracker 95, The Wine Advocate 94, Wine Spectator 94, Wine Enthusiast 94. 2012 Chateau Angelus St Emilion Grand Cru has the score of 94 from Robert Parker and the tasting note -Tasted blind as a vintage comparison at the Valandraud vertical, the 2012 Angelus has a forward and generous bouquet of mulberry, boysenberry, orange rind and slithers of tangerine. It is undoubtedly detailed and energetic, a subtle marine scent surfacing with continued aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded and supple tannin, slightly honeyed in texture yet with a keen line of acidity running through it. Impressive body and mass, yet primal, surly and broody. Perhaps only now is it starting to flex its muscles. This is a well crafted and opulent Saint Emilion with a long future ahead and it may warrant a higher score in the future. Those who cellar this for over a decade will see this in full flight.
