The excellent nose shows off the purity and sappiness of this vintage to fine effect, wafting from the glass in a beautifully perfumed blend of red and black cherries, red plums, cocoa, a beautiful base of dark, Gevrey soil tones, woodsmoke and rose petals. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very sappy this year, with striking transparency, fine-grained tannins and outstanding focus and grip on the very soil-driven finish. This is beautifully elegant and has more mid-palate stuffing that customary- a very good combination I might add! (Drink between 2017-2035)
