The rating for 2018 Chateau de St Cosme Le Claux Gigondas is 96 points from Robert Parker and the tasting note - From a single parcel of old-vine Grenache, the 2018 Gigondas le Claux matured in a mix of new, one- and two-year-old barrels. Full-bodied, rich and expansive, it combines notes of black cherries, roses, black tea and asphalt with vanilla and hints of cigar box. Ripe, supple and velvety, it's a seductive example of Gigondas that should drink well for more than a decade. From one of Gigondas's top producers, I guess it should be no surprise that this year's lineup is flat-out terrific. The single-parcel wines from 2018 are among the best I've tasted here, managing to combine remarkable intensity with seductive, approachable textures. These are wines that are delicious now, yet appear capable of drinking well for more than a decade. And don't overlook the Côtes du Rhône offerings from proprietor Louis Barruol, which continue to offer outstanding value. The rating for 2018 Chateau de St Cosme Hominis Fides Gigondas is 97 points from Robert Parker and the tasting note - The 2018 Gigondas Hominis Fides is another huge success for the team at Saint Cosme, boasting complex aromas of roses, dusty earth, cigar box, asphalt and dark fruit. The plums and black cherries expand on the full-bodied palate, sweeping across in supple waves of flavor without ever becoming overbearing, buoyed by notes of cracked pepper and anise, then finishing in silky pools of lingering flavor. From one of Gigondas's top producers, I guess it should be no surprise that this year's lineup is flat-out terrific. The rating for 2018 Chateau de St Cosme Le Poste Gigondas is 98 points from Robert Parker and the tasting note - Up there among the best Gigondas I've ever reviewed, the 2018 Gigondas le Poste combines considerable complexity with incredible intensity and adds a seductive measure of suppleness without sacrificing length or focus. Violet and aniseed aromas accent plums and black cherries on the nose, while the palate is full-bodied and velvety in texture, with a long, silky finish that folds in notes of salted licorice.
