The score for2019 Bond Estates Quella Napa Valley is 95 from Robert Parker and this is the tasting note -Located on the eastern side of the valley at about the same latitude as Saint Helena, Quella was planted in 1998/99 on light-colored volcanic tufa and river cobbles. Scents of crushed stone mark the nose on the 2019 Quella, accenting blueberry and blackberry fruit. It's medium to full-bodied, with juicy, mouthwatering acids and ripe, creamy-supple, tannins, making for a pleasant juxtaposition on the wine's lingering finish. Bill Harlan's Bond offers five single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons from different portions of the Napa Valley, meant to represent the valley's "grand crus." While the vineyards aren't owned by Harlan, the team has great influence on the farming. Winemaking is by Cory Empting, who also makes the Harlan and Promontory wines. The score for2019 Bond Estates Melbury Napa Valley is 96 from Robert Parker and this is the tasting note -From a clay-rich, south-southwest-facing site overlooking Lake Hennessey, the 2019 Melbury boasts a decadent, almost Pomerol-like nose of ripe black cherries. It just oozes lushness from every pore, being full-bodied, rich and supple in the mouth, with a long, plush finish and graceful notes of pine and red cherries. The score for2019 Bond Estates Pluribus Napa Valley is 97 from Robert Parker and this is the tasting note -The 2019 Pluribus originates from a site 1,000 feet above sea level on Spring Mountain. East-facing and planted in 1998 on Aiken clay loam, it's wonderfully sappy and herbal on the nose but balances those notes with ripe cherries. It's medium to full-bodied, not as rich or lush as some of the other Bond wines, but silky, suave and elegant, with a long, lingering finish laced with dried herbs and softly dusty tannins. The score for2019 Bond Estates St Eden Napa Valley is 98 from Robert Parker and this is the tasting note -From an iron-rich site just north of the Oakville Crossroad, the 2019 St. Eden boasts effusive aromas of ripe cherries and briary raspberries framed by subtle cedar shadings. Full-bodied, silky, plush and long, this is a terrific all-around effort that deserves a few years in the cellar and should drink well for at least two decades thereafter. The score for2019 Bond Estates Vecina Napa Valley is 99 from Robert Parker and this is the tasting note -My pick of the 2019s from Bond is the 2019 Vecina, which originates from a terraced, east-facing vineyard near the Bond winery, in the western hills of Oakville. It offers tremendous complexity on the nose, with hints of bay leaf, dried sage and pine needles set against a core of ripe cherries and raspberries. In the mouth, it's silky and lush, with terrific length and vibrant fruit on the finish. Give it a few years of age, then drink it over the next two decades.
