2019 Domaine Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru has following scores - Decanter 98, The Wine Advocate 97, Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy 97. 2019 Domaine Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru has the score of 95+ from Robert Parker and the tasting note -The 2019 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has turned out brilliantly in bottle, exhibiting a harmony and precision that stands out in this vintage. Offering up aromas of sweet orchard fruits, citrus pith, nutmeg, spices, honey and oatmeal, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with excellent concentration, chalky structuring extract and a long, vibrant finish. This is a very classy, beautifully balanced wine that is built to age with grace. Domaine Bonneau du Martray goes from strength to strength, and this was another impressive tasting with cellar master Emmanuel Hautus. As I wrote last year, the domaine's extensive holdings, when vinified parcel by parcel, give Hautus and his team a broad palette of blending components to choose from, a rare luxury in Burgundy and one that they appear to be exploiting to the fullest. At the press, Hautus told me that he tries to be more adaptive to the year, with foulage and press cycles tailored to each crop, rather than proceeding by default. Revisited in bottle, the 2018 Corton-Charlemagne showed brilliantly, and the 2019 is sure to surpass it. As a great admirer of the wonderful wines this domaine produced in the past, all this is very gratifying.
