A hospitality veteran and wine import professional with over 15 years in the industry, the collector earned his International Sommelier Guild certificate in the early 2000s. For over two decades, he has maintained his private collection to a maximum of 400 bottles, occasionally releasing select parcels to maintain this cap. Sourced primarily from licensed retail and warehouse channels in British Columbia and Alberta—with select premium bottles acquired through trusted New York retail partners—the entire collection has been kept exclusively in professional, off-site climate control. It was housed long-term at Griffin Wine Storage before moving to its current pristine facility in Vancouver, meticulously maintained at 13°C.
2019 Fattoria Le Pupille Saffredi Maremma Toscana IGT from this lot has the following scores - Wines Critic 100 points. This is the tasting note for 2019 Fattoria Le Pupille Saffredi Maremma Toscana IGT from Robert Parker - with a score of 98 points. Wow, the Fattoria le Pupille 2019 Saffredi is a gorgeous standout in this retrospective. The wine benefits from long and slow-ripening fruit in a vintage that prizes depth and complexity. You sense the many layers and nuances in the 2019, especially compared to the more monolithic 2020 vintage. This wine is impeccably assembled with a dark fruit component that is elegantly framed by soft oak toast and spice. There is an almost milky quality with macadamia nut or almond cream that serves to smooth out the finish. It ends with velvety soft tannins. I'm sure that the 2019 will benefit from more time in bottle.
