All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.
It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements for insuring, packing and removing the property purchased and any assistance by the Auctioneer, or the employees of, agents or contractors in packing and removal shall be rendered as a courtesy and without any liability to them. The Auctioneer shall not be liable for any errors or omissions or damage caused by packers and shippers, notwithstanding the fact that the Auctioneer may have recommended such shippers or packers to the purchaser.
A Toronto-based collector with a passion for fine wine. Built with impeccable provenance and meticulous care, wines were acquired via cellar door, mailing lists, and trusted agencies and retailers in the city. Wines were housed in a temperature and humidity-controlled home cellar until landing with Iron Gate.
The score for 2019 Kistler Durell Vineyard Chardonnay Sonoma Coast is 95+ from Robert Parker and the tasting note - The 2019 Chardonnay Durell Vineyard has a nose of fresh quince and white peaches, with toasty notes of roasted almonds and accents of grapefruit, jasmine and crushed stone. The medium-bodied palate is savory and expansive, taking time to flesh out from intense citrus to nutty, mineral-streaked character, and it finishes very, very long. It’s so beautiful right from bottle but deserves more time in the cellar.
The score for 2019 Kistler Dutton Ranch Chardonnay Russian River Valley is 97+ from Robert Parker and the tasting note - The 2019 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch is energetic and tensile, beginning with grapefruit and lemon peel aromas that open over time to white peaches, dried lilac, beeswax and cashews. The palate is satiny and expansive. Its intense, floral-laced flavors are refreshed by youthfully tangy acidity, and it has an ethereal finish that just goes on and on. Wow!
The score for 2019 Kistler McCrea Vineyard Athearn Estate Sonoma Mountain Chardonnay is 96+ from Robert Parker and the tasting note - The 2019 Chardonnay McCrea Vineyard is soft, bright and energetic. It has delicate aromas of quince paste, hazelnuts, stone and white flowers. Its silky, expansive palate has incredible detail, precision and lift that carries the long, mineral-driven finish.
