An established, private cellar from Toronto. Filled with Old World icons and New World classics, the wines were largely sourced from the LCBO, trusted importers, and direct from wineries. All the bottles were stored in a home cellar under temperature control.
The wine in this lot has a score of 98 from Robert Parker and the following tasting note -The 80% new French oak is just barely noticeable in the 2020 Chardonnay Lauren Estate, revealed in the hints of pencil shavings that accent white peach and pineapple—there's tremendous fruit intensity here. Full-bodied and powerful, this blend of four heirloom selections remains exceptionally zesty, clean and fresh, with great length seamlessly allied to considerable richness. For now, I give a slight nod to the 2021 vintage, but this is a similarly terrific wine. My tasting with Mark Aubert was one of the most anticipated visits of my first year reviewing Napa wines for Robert Parker Wine Advocate. Having read years of previous reviews—and sampling the occasional bottle along the way—I had high expectations for the wines. This was an opportunity to look at Aubert's 2020 Chardonnays from bottle (there were no 2020 single-vineyard Pinot Noirs released) and take a pre-bottling look at the 2021s.
