A Montreal based consignor who began collecting seriously 6 years ago when a good friend whose appreciation of wine led them to monthly tastings of rare and fine wine. She has been purchasing at a rate that will be difficult to consume and wanted to share some of their wines with others, through auction. All the bottles in this auction were sourced through the SAQ and have been stored in a eurocave or transtherm wine cooler.
The score for 2020 Jean Marc Roulot Meursault Genevrieres 1er Cru is 93 from Robert Parker and the tasting note - A whiff of exotic character is present on the distinctly cool and restrained aromas of Asian-style tea, green apple, citrus zest and pretty floral elements. The delicious and almost painfully intense yet plump and fleshy middle weight flavors exude a subtle minerality on the focused, saliva-inducing and bitter lemon-suffused finish. Lovely and understated and a wine that is not so tightly wound that it could not be approached after only a few years of keeping.
