An Ontario based collector that started collecting 14 years ago, after a life-altering tasting experience with a bottle of Harlan Estate. The entirety of his collection was sourced direct from wineries, the LCBO and the SAQ. None of the wines offered are from auction. Since acquisition, all his wines have been stored in a residential, temperature and humidity-controlled custom cellar before being brought to auction.
The score for 2021 Domaine Leflaive Puligny Montrachet Les Pucelles Premier Cru is 93+ from Robert Parker and the tasting note - Unwinding in the glass with aromas of mandarin, buttered toast, clear honey, toasted nuts and youthful reduction, Leflaive's 2021 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles is medium to full-bodied, layered and chalky, with a dense core of fruit and impressive structuring extract. This is built for the cellar. Brice de La Morandière and technical director Pierre Vincent described 2021 as a vintage full of uncertainties but with which they're ultimately very satisfied. Their approach to rot was rigorous sorting, fewer crumblings of the cake during pressing and separating the later press fractions more likely to be contaminated. That seems to have worked, as they have produced a range of impressive purity and good mid-palate density too. Additional scores for the wine in this lot - Vinous 95 points , Wine Spectator 95 points , BurgHound.com 94 points , CellarTracker 94 points , Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy 94 points , The Wine Advocate 93 points .
