An Ontario based consignor who was a bartender for many years, and in the 90s met a winemaker who convinced him to train as a company sommelier. Thirty years later and he now co-owns an agency and has amassed a much larger collection than he will consume. He sources wines from the LCBO, but as a wine agent, he also orders directly from the wineries he represents. His bottles are stored in his tasting room, which features a temperature-controlled cellar with space for over 10,000 bottles.
The score for 2021 Sens3s Day One Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is 93 points from Robert Parker and the tasting note - The 2021 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is a blend of Senses's single-vineyard wines and was matured for 10 months in less than 10% new French oak. It has alluring, layered scents of dark cherries and berries, fernet, dried herbs and top notes of citrus peel. The medium-bodied palate is silky, supple and bursting with perfumed fruit. It has a long finish laced with youthful oak spice, and I especially enjoy the vibrancy of its acidity. This will appeal to a wide range of Pinot Noir lovers. 340 cases were made.
