Available payment options
All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.
It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements for insuring, packing and removing the property purchased and any assistance by the Auctioneer, or the employees of, agents or contractors in packing and removal shall be rendered as a courtesy and without any liability to them. The Auctioneer shall not be liable for any errors or omissions or damage caused by packers and shippers, notwithstanding the fact that the Auctioneer may have recommended such shippers or packers to the purchaser.
Our single-owner consignor is a couple from the Greater Toronto Area who have travelled the world collecting fine wine and spirits. The spirits for this auction were sourced both through licensed retailers in Canada and abroad. They have taken great care to store their spirits properly, upright in temperature/humidity-controlled home cellar away from sunlight. Preferring to remain anonymous, our consignor couple has a passion to collect rare and valuable bottles from different regions, eras, and styles. They both enjoy scotch whisky especially and started collecting out of curiosity and appreciation of the history and complexity of the spirit. As true collectors they share their spirits and travel stories with friends, family and those who want to learn about the spirit.
The Ardbeg Blaaack is a limited edition single malt Scotch whisky, released in 2020 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee, a global fan club devoted to the preservation of the distillery's legacy. For the first time in the distillery's history, this expression has been matured in Pinot Noir casks sourced from New Zealand, bringing a unique characteristic to the whisky. Although this exclusive release was primarily made available to members of the Ardbeg Committee, it has since become a sought-after bottle for collectors and enthusiasts alike, underlining its significance in the broader context of Ardbeg's revered portfolio of single malt whiskies.
Tasting Notes-Nose- You can really smell the cask influence. The first thing that comes off are dark cherries with some peachy notes underneath followed by classic Ardbeg aromas of smoked meat and old fireplaces. A splash of water brings out cedar and some volcanic notes.
Palate-Fiery and spicy initially, then those cherries again with limes lurking underneath with wood smoke underlying it all.
Finish-Lick of dark chocolate, single espresso and wafts and wafts of wood smoke.
