Our single-owner consignor is a couple from the Greater Toronto Area who have travelled the world collecting fine wine and spirits. The spirits for this auction were sourced both through licensed retailers in Canada and abroad. They have taken great care to store their spirits properly, upright in temperature/humidity-controlled home cellar away from sunlight. Preferring to remain anonymous, our consignor couple has a passion to collect rare and valuable bottles from different regions, eras, and styles. They both enjoy scotch whisky especially and started collecting out of curiosity and appreciation of the history and complexity of the spirit. As true collectors they share their spirits and travel stories with friends, family and those who want to learn about the spirit.

From the silent distillery Brora, this 34 Year Old single malt whisky from the Highland region was part of Diageo's Special Releases in 2017. Distilled in 1982, it matured for 34 years in refill American oak hogsheads. This whisky features a natural cask strength of 51.9%. It is 2895 of 3,000 A solid 92 points by Serge at Whisky Fun! Distiller’s Tasting Notes- Nose-At first maritime and mineral, with dried seaweed. Then a wave of flavours suggest a cider farm's workshop in springtime. Finally, sweet flavours roll in with green leaves, all on a faintly waxy base. Palate-The waxy texture for which Brora is renowned starts sharper than you expect, with fruit, chili and fresh-ground black pepper. As the heat subsides, fruity dark chocolate and soft barrel-char smoke appear. Finish-Some spice in the finish as aniseed slowly fade to leave sweet-spicy oak. With a final quick burst of black pepper and sweet fruit.
