A consignor who began collecting spirits around 20 years ago, he took great pleasure in sourcing unique and rare bottles with the intention of sharing them with friends. Most of his collection was acquired through reputable Canadian retailers such as AGLC, LCBO, SAQ, and NSLC, with a few special finds also picked up during his travels across the US. Each bottle was stored upright in a climate-controlled basement cellar.
A.A1262. Canada’s very own Dr. Don Livermore is the master blender at Hiram Walker & Sons Limited in Windsor, Ontario, where he oversees the production of several acclaimed brands, including J.P. Wiser’s, Lot No. 40, Pike Creek, and Gooderham & Worts.
His doctoral research focused on the interaction between wood and whisky during maturation, a study that has significantly influenced his blending techniques leading to the now famous “Dissertation” bottling from JP Wiser’s based on this thesis at Harriot-Watt University. In April 2025, Dr. Livermore was honored as the “Master Blender/Master Distiller of the Year – Rest of World” at the World Whiskies Awards in London, UK, marking a significant achievement in his illustrious career.
