An Ontario-based consignor who is bringing her late husband’s collection to auction. He started collecting in his 20s and loved everything about wine, buying, drinking, cooking, reading and especially getting together with the members of his wine group to discuss bottles. He purchased through the LCBO, some agents and through auction. All bottles were stored in their wine fridge, at a constant temperature of 56 degrees and away from bright light.
Producer notes - Based in Passy sur Marne, in the heart of the Marne Valley, a truly typical village surrounded by hillsides, Martine and Pascal Serveaux, supported by their children Elodie, Nicolas and Hugo, passionately cultivate the natural riches of their 15-hectare terroir on which they grow the three Champagne grape varieties, Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. A true pioneer of Meunier, the Serveaux family has managed to promote this grape variety that was so maligned a few years ago. As true lovers of their land, they know each of their plots perfectly. To the rhythm of the seasons and in all weathers, they provide each vine, throughout the year, with the various treatments that will allow the grapes to offer the best of themselves during their pressing, from the appearance of the first bud until the final harvest, at the end of summer… With total respect for the environment.
