The score for 2013 Thomas Pinot Noir Dundee Hills is 92 points from Vinous and the tasting note - Vivid red. High-toned, mineral-accented scents of red berries, cola and rose pastille, plus a hint of spicecake that emerges as the wine opens up. Silky, sharply focused raspberry and bitter cherry flavors show very good energy, picking up a touch of gaminess on the back half. Delivers a solid punch of flavors but comes off lithe, showing no rough edges. Finishes juicy, subtly smoky and very long, displaying lingering red fruit and succulent herb nuances and sneaky tannins. The score for 2014 Thomas Pinot Noir Dundee Hills is 93 points from Vinous and the tasting note - Limpid ruby-red. Black raspberry, cherry cola, pungent flowers and a hint of woodsmoke on the deeply perfumed nose. Pliant, sweet and penetrating on the palate, offering gently sweet red and dark berry, cola and spicecake flavors and subtle herb and earth flourishes. In an ample, fleshy style for this producer, but there's no lack of energy here. Closes sweet, gently spicy and very long, with repeating dark berry and smoke notes and sneaky tannins lending grip. The score for 2012 Thomas Pinot Noir Dundee Hills is 93 points from Vinous and the tasting note - Brilliant red. Vibrant aromas of red berry liqueur, Asian spices and rose oil, accompanied by smoky mineral and cola accents. Silky, penetrating raspberry, cherry and floral pastille flavors show excellent depth as well as vivacity thanks to a core of tangy juicy that adds lift and spine. Delivers plenty of flavor, as is the norm from this vintage, but there's a light touch as well, which one would expect from this winery. The very long, gently tannic finish features a subtle hint of smoked meat and leaves behind a refreshingly bitter cherry skin note.
