Black raspberry, cherry cola, pungent flowers and a hint of woodsmoke on the deeply perfumed nose. The score for 2012 Thomas Pinot Noir Dundee Hills is 93 points from Vinous and the tasting note - Brilliant red. Vibrant aromas of red berry liqueur, Asian spices and rose oil, accompanied by smoky mineral and cola accents. Silky, penetrating raspberry, cherry and floral pastille flavors show excellent depth as well as vivacity thanks to a core of tangy juicy that adds lift and spine. Delivers plenty of flavor, as is the norm from this vintage, but there's a light touch as well, which one would expect from this winery. The very long, gently tannic finish features a subtle hint of smoked meat and leaves behind a refreshingly bitter cherry skin note.
