An Ontario based consignor who has been collecting wine with her husband for over 30 years. They have an appreciation of the intricacies of the winemaking process and have travelled to many vineyards throughout the USA and Europe. When opening a bottle, they enjoy sharing the story of the wine and took great care to create their custom built wine cellar to house their unique collection. Their hope is to share these bottles with other avid wine collectors.
Producer Notes for 1995 Dal Forno Romano Nettare Veneto IGT - Romano Dal Forno is located near Verona, in Italy’s Veneto region. With 62 acres of vineyards, it is relatively small, producing about 45,000 bottles annually. Yet it enjoys an outsized reputation for the quality of its wines. The estate has been in the Dal Forno family for four generations, and is today run by Romano Dal Forno. Amarone della Valpolicella is the estate’s signature wine, and Gambero Rosso, Italy’s leading wine journal, generally gives the estate’s wines the highest possible rating of 3 Bicchieri. Half of this extraordinary dessert wine is made with dried grapes, 80% Garganega, 8% Turbiana, 12% Trebbiano Toscano. Aged in barriques for 30-40 months.
