A collector, based in Toronto, became interested in wine while visiting his father-in-law in Hong Kong over 60 years ago. He also owned a restaurant that had an impressive wine list and was was able to visit many wineries throughout France. He continued collecting after selling the restaurant with most of his bottles purchased upon release from the LCBO. He took meticulous care of his wine, labeling many of the bottles and storing them in a temperature and humidity controlled cellar in his home.

The score for 2005 Chateau Beychevelle St Julien is 93 from Robert Parker and the tasting note - The Grand Vin, the 2005 Beychevelle is a gorgeous wine, with plenty of crème de cassis, floral notes, underbrush and forest floor. It is sweet and medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannin and beautiful texture and purity. Drink it over the next 20 years. The score for 2006 Chateau Beychevelle St Julien is 91 from Robert Parker and the tasting note - Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London. The 2006 Château Beychevelle has a more open and more complex bouquet compared to the 2006 Talbot. I appreciate the clarity and detail here with briary, cedar and touches of forest floor, suggesting that it has both feet planted on its drinking plateau. The palate is medium-bodied with a firm grip in the mouth. This is clean and fresh with a fine line of acidity
