An Ontario based consignor who became interested in fine wine while working in F&B at a private golf course in 2007. He then worked for a wine importer/retailer and purchased wine through them as well as on his travels. Bottles were stored in a Vintage Keeper. He finds himself not drinking as much as he used to and is hoping his bottles end up with someone who enjoys fine wine as much as he does.
The tasting note for 2011 Domaine Leflaive Puligny Montrachet Clavoillon Premier Cru is from Robert Parker and the score is 93 - Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clavoillon 2011 from Anne-Claude Laflaive has convincing pedigree on the nose - fine minerality here and impressive delineation, touches of slate unfurling in the glass. The palate has a slightly honeyed entry and it is more exotic than the nose suggests with hints of orange rind and sour lemon dovetailing into lively chalky textured finish.
