A consignor who began collecting wine in 1980, inspired by a close friend who introduced him to the world of wine. His passion grew quickly, and over time, his collection expanded to 3,500 bottles. All wines were sourced directly on release from the LCBO, with many acquired through the Bordeaux Futures program. Most remain in sealed original wood cases bearing LCBO labels and his name, ensuring excellent provenance and condition. From the start, all bottles were stored in a temperature- and humidity-controlled walk-in cellar at home, with some later transferred to professional storage at IronGate, where the consigned wines are currently held. His collection focuses on Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Italian wines, collected for enjoyment rather than investment.
2015 Podere Giodo Brunello di Montalcino DOCG from this lot has the following scores - James Suckling 100 points. This is the tasting note for 2015 Podere Giodo Brunello di Montalcino DOCG from James Suckling - with a score of 100. This is a splendid Brunello, showing extraordinary purity of sangiovese character. Cherry and floral aromas and flavors. Full-bodied with incredibly integrated tannins that seem like they are not there. But they are and are comprehensive on the palate. Great depth and agility. Just floats on the palate. Magic carpet. Drinkable, to enjoy the magic, but needs three or four years to come around.
