A collector since 2011, this consignor’s passion for wine was ignited after enjoying a bottle of Burgundy at a dinner in Paris. He purchased his wine on release through the LCBO and SAQ as well as from France and USA. All bottles were stored in a temperature and humidity-controlled cellar before coming to auction at Iron Gate.
2015 Stella di Campalto Amore Podere San Giuseppe Brunello di Montalcino from this lot has the following scores - CellarTracker 93 points. This is the tasting note for 2015 Stella di Campalto Amore Podere San Giuseppe Brunello di Montalcino from nan - Winemaker notes- Founder of the eponymous estate, Stella di Campalto is committed to producing authentic wines that reflect the beauty of the terroir. In her work, she draws inspiration from Nicolas Joly (Coulée de Serrant), with whom she has worked extensively, and tends her vineyards according to biodynamic principles. The work in the cellar is conducted with the same respect for the raw materials. After harvest, the grapes are selected and destemmed before being slowly pressed and fermented using indigenous yeasts in open, 30-hectoliter truncated cone-shaped vats. The wine is then gravity-fed to the cellars, located 15 meters underground, where it ages in wooden barrels (with a proportion of new wood of approximately 20%). The tasting highlights a wine characterized by intense fruit, complemented by subtle oaky notes that add a touch of great complexity. The palate is structured by velvety tannins and offers a long finish. We suggest letting the wine rest for a few years and pairing it with regional dishes, such as pici with game ragù or a slice of Chianina beef.
