Available payment options
All lots are located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Confirmation of pickup or delivery of Iron Gate Commercial Auction winnings must be made within 60 days of auction close. Thereafter, your winnings will be subject to storage fees, including a $75 setup, subsequent $5.00/case/month and $1.25 per bottle fee for inventory services. If no contact has been made within two years, auction winnings will be considered abandoned.
It is the responsibility of the buyer to make all arrangements for insuring, packing and removing the property purchased and any assistance by the Auctioneer, or the employees of, agents or contractors in packing and removal shall be rendered as a courtesy and without any liability to them. The Auctioneer shall not be liable for any errors or omissions or damage caused by packers and shippers, notwithstanding the fact that the Auctioneer may have recommended such shippers or packers to the purchaser.
With decades of experience in wine collecting and a fascination with Scotch whisky’s unique attributes, this consignor became captivated by its distinct yet consistent flavour profiles across distilleries. Unlike wine, Scotch offers a reliable year-to-year consistency, and longevity post-opening. Since he began collecting in 2019, he has focused on purchasing bottles from BCL, local liquor stores, and AGLC, and stores them carefully in his basement cellar.
195 Bottles. Cask3.318 Scotch Malt Whisky Society 3.318 (Bowmore Distillery) From Islay, this 16 year old was matured in 2nd fill ex-bourbon barrel and is 57.1%.
SMWS Tasting Panel's tasting note- "The sweetness of the initially smoky aroma was incredible – a potpourri of heather, lavender, roses and violets. This was followed by scorched juicy raisins and the scent of crushed pink and white seashells. When we tried it, just like ‘Hazy Sunset’ – a cocktail made from smoked ice, pineapple and lime juice, light rum and two dashes of Angostura bitters garnished with a fresh cherry and mint sprig. With a small amount of water, we made duck breast a l’orange with sweet oven roasted new potatoes, while on the palate we went Japanese enjoying sticky miso and lime-glazed octopus with crispy matcha tempura batter."
